Michael is a seasoned public servant, Emmy-winning television producer, and dedicated community leader with a distinguished career spanning law, media, public policy, and the arts.
A former Chief Assistant District Attorney for Policy and Planning in Philadelphia and former counsel to committees of the Pennsylvania House and Senate, Michael also spent years as an award-winning television news and public affairs producer. He has served on the Non Profit Development Center of Southern New Jersey (NPDCSNJ) Board since its inception—holding key leadership roles including Chair (2008–2014, 2024) and President (2019–2020). Michael has led planning for several major initiatives, including the first-ever South Jersey Non Profit Summit in 2022, eight county-based Mini-Summits, and Non Profit Summit II in 2024.
Michael is also the co-founder and Vice Chair of the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust (HOST), a nonprofit transforming public spaces through art since 2013. His civic contributions have been widely recognized. He is a member of the Leadership New Jersey Class of 2001, a recipient of both the New Jersey Governor’s Volunteer Award for the Arts and LNJ’s Aletha Wright Volunteer Leadership Award. He has twice been honored for outstanding corporate philanthropy in the arts by the Community Foundation of New Jersey and was named one of South Jersey Magazine’s “Men of the Year” in 2023.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Michael is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to his professional achievements, he has been a dedicated educator at the collegiate and professional levels since 1971 and has coached and officiated youth sports for more than 40 years.
