Who We Are

At NPDCSNJ, our core focus is on building capacity within the nonprofit sector. As an all-volunteer organization, every dollar we raise goes directly into programs that help other nonprofits grow and thrive, benefiting the entire South Jersey community.

Vision

Our vision is to establish South Jersey as the most “NPO-friendly” region in the nation. We aim to be the leading supporter of nonprofit organizations (NPOs) in our area by providing:

Technical assistance through capacity-building programs
Networking opportunities to foster collaboration and growth
Visibility by recognizing and celebrating the achievements of NPOs

Mission

Our mission is simple: to help South Jersey’s nonprofit organizations, especially those providing direct services to their communities, do their work "better". We believe that when we strengthen even one nonprofit, we help improve the entire region.

Founded with the goal of maximizing donors’ social return on investment and stimulating new sources of philanthropy, we carry out this mission by offering:

Technical assistance to enhance organizational effectiveness
Information-sharing and educational opportunities
Networking to build connections and partnerships
Celebrations and recognition of NPO successes to boost visibility

Our History

Founded in 2006 to help South Jersey’s non profit organizations continue to do good…but do it even better, this historically all-volunteer service organization is dedicated to enhancing the work of the region’s 10,000+ nonprofits and their leaders through technical assistance, information-sharing, education, celebrations, and networking.

Accredited as a 501 (c) (3) organization by the IRS, NPDC has served more than 2,500 of the region’s NPO professionals and recognized more than 60 of the region‘s top NPO leaders and organizations...In addition, the organization and eight of its volunteer leaders have been cited by former President Barack Obama with the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

“We do everything for the region’s NPOs…except write the checks.” And we even do that occasionally—when we present small stipends to our annual award winners, in recognition of their outstanding service to the community.
